Jack and Stand Kit, 2; 2.5; or 3-Ton?
Looking for a Jack and Stand Kit, what would be recommended for a W163? I do have a ML320 and a ML55 (which is heavier in the front i assume, V8)
I see 2-ton kits run for $50-$100, and the 3-ton kits $140+ Safety first of course, but would a 2-ton do the trick, or is it safer to go with the 3-ton?
Tried asking around in some stores here, but i got the same answer that "2-ton should probably do the trick, since lifting only the front of the car" However, don't like the word "probably" in this sense, as i would be under the front of the car.....

I personally use a 2-ton set-up. My wife purchased my set for Christmas a year ago. It came with a jack, two jack stands, and a rolling cart to slide under the vehicle. I have had no issues with it.
My 2 cents.

thanks for the reply, i ended up going with Arcan 3-ton from CostCo, and then added a pair of 3-ton stands from a local company. Probably would have been good with 2-ton, but got a great deal on the above set!

Kinda' late for your reply, but I second the three ton option. Might as well go over a bit. A bonus is the larger jack may give you a bit more vertical lift as well. Sears had a Craftsman 3T floor jack, stands, and floor creeper combo on sale of the holidays, and I picked that up for $100. Pretty happy with it so far!
