Introduction & My First Question for the Experts

Hello everybody! I just purchased an amazing 160k 2001 Stage 2 HPS Supercharged ML55 AMG this week, and am excited to be part of the community. My first impression is that these cars are amazing and an incredible value... even stock! I come from the Audi world, in which I have built and regularly enjoy my stage 3 2000 Audi S4 2.7T. There's just nothing like a Euro and no better value than a used and well-maintained Euro!

Attached are photos/legal highway on-ramp video of the my new lady

I intend on contributing back to the community with information once I learn this new chassis.... until then, my first question from the experts here:

I bought the car at near sea-level, and am worried that the altitude change (now 5000ft+ altitude) will affect the tune/fuel ratios for the vehicle. I just got the car home and really want to drive it, but do not want to blow up the engine. The car is equipped with the HPS piggy-back ECU. Do I need to worry about remapping the ECU, or will she adapt to all altitudes?

Thanks again to all that contribute to the community by making knowledge easily accessible for this amazing vehicle!

Below is the Altitude Adj. Chart and the MAP Sensor will have to be tweaked via the ECM.

Thank you for that information. It will help but it seems like I still need a way to access the ECU parameters. Does the MB world have open source software for something like this?

That can only be done with a M/B SDS. But you had better know how to use it or take it to M/B and have them do it.
