ML Engine Bay Cleaning
Hi forum,
Lots of videos out there how to clean the engine bay. Most of them using a spray (de-greaser) and let that sit for a while then using a power wash to clean it out. As we know the ML have a lot of electrical components that wouldn't take water to well, things like battery portals are obvious areas to cover/avoid.
would be interesting to see if anyone have done this, what to cover, what to avoid, power wash or not, what de-greasers to use etc.

I've cleaned my engine bay several times. When doing general cleaning I leave the engine cover on. I use plastic grocery bags to cover the alternator. I hose down the engine. I spray degreaser and agitate with brushes. Then rinse. After rinsing I remove the bags and start the truck. After a few minutes I turn off the vehicle and spray an engine shine and wipe everything down. I have done this with all of my vehicles and some customers' as well. Never a problem.

If you enjoy dealing with multiple misfires and spending $$$ on new coil packs, then go ahead and power-wash your engine. Like this owner did:

I don't see why you need to get the engine so clean anyway. Are you planning to grill on it?
