Lightbulb car Phone ML320 '98

I have just purchased a complete telephone kit for my ML320 , 1998 model ( PSE, Cradle, tImeport, Cable, etc..)

I have a OEM MCS navigation DVD system already installed and working perfectly, also I have the dual band antenna and splitters.

My problem is this :

All plugs coming from the harness that goes to the PSE are connected and have matching connectors except for one plug that is a 3 pin connector coming from the PSE and is supposed to be connected to another matching plug on the MCS end. But I do not have any matching connector to go in this plug.

I was able to figure out the Job of each pin they are : + positive Pin , - Negative Pin , and Wake Pin for the D2B fiber optic link.

Can any one tell me where this pin goes on the MCS side , and all I have to do is connect the + positive and - Negative .

One more question : after completing the installation of the telephone kit , do I have to version code the MCS to recognise the telephone installed or it should detect it automatically ?

You mentioned the MCS retrofit. What MY MCS do you have?

If you have a MY 2000 MCS (non-fiber optic), the MCS pinout ...

is listed here.

If you have a MY 2001 (fiber optic) MCS, the pinout (courtesy of Wolfgang's and Ken Yee's sites) is as follows ...

C1 A1 - 16 Pin Plug
Pin 01 - blue VSS speed signal
Pin 02 - yellow diagnostic SRS
Pin 03 - gray TeleAid
Pin 04 - red +12 (circuit 30)
Pin 05 - orange antenna amplifier(and audio amplifier w/Bose)
Pin 06 - white interior lamps dimmed
Pin 07 - pink +12 (circuit 15)
Pin 08 - brown GND
B1 red - speaker FL+ (B1-8 with BOSE use D2B)
B2 gray - speaker FL-
B3 orange - speaker FR+
B4 white - speaker FR-
B5 blue - speaker LR+
B6 green - speaker LR-
B7 pink - speaker RR+
B8 orange - speaker RR-

C2 - 10 Pin Plug
Pin 01 - white TeleAid
Pin 02 - green TeleAid
Pin 03 - gray stop lamp switch
Pin 04 - pink CD changer (and phone, TeleAID after 09/2000)
Pin 05 - orange CD changer
Pin 06 - brown GND
Pin 07 - orange head lamp switch
Pin 08 - ?
Pin 09 - ?
Pin 10 - ?

I am not sure what MCS model I have , but it has a dvd not disk and it has a Fiber Optic plug at the back , dont tell me all models have these !!!!

With the pin layout you sent to me there is no D2B wake pin connection , do you know if that pin has a different name ? or may be it can be connected to a different pin

All the help I get will be appreciated

Thanks

Dr. Fix It, it's just as UncAL posted. Pin 04 is the D2B wakeup in a 2001 MCS. If you have a 2000 MCS, use Pin 07 on the same connector. That's the empty pin on the 10 pin CD-changer plug.
