Is there a way to attach this stereo to a battery to test if it works? Tons of wires, and no black one. No idea which ones to attach to a battery. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Is this the top of the radio on the back side?

I have an 04 ML350. It had the Bose system without nav which I replaced with an android system. For testing, my guess from your picture, is the top row yellow and red wires would go to positive (+) battery. Where you have top row orange wire, I had black wire for ground (-) battery. The third and fourth rows from the top are speaker wires.

This is just my guess. As Maj Dundee indicated, need to know more information on that radio.
