2002 ML 500 Door Lock Issues
First post. Here's what's going on. Just finished replacing the window regulator (front left) on my mother in law's w163. The door doesn't close. Upon further examination, the outside door handle is only working intermittently. The inside handle works great, the remote lock works fine as well. I'm thinking it's the door lock assembly, but I was wondering if I could have knocked something loose in replacing the window regulator? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can operate the door latch easily with the wire attached to the inner door handle. When I close the latch the outer handle only flips it maybe one in ten times (and never with the door closed). I put my hand up in the door and can feel the metal plate being moved by the door handle, but that motion isn't getting transferred to the latch. Thank you for the response.
