Is this a good deal?
I found a 2001 ML 430 Sport with 52,000 miles. The dealer (not a MB dealer) wants $24,000, which is a good price, but it needs work. It's been in two fender benders and been repaired rather carelessly. It also needs new brakes and new tires. All told, it would cost about $4,500 to make it as close to new as possible. I then have a 50000 mile car with all new parts. Is this a good deal? I know the sport package is hard to come by. Would I be buying into a lot of problems?
I know a fair amount about MB's and I actually have an old SL, but I would like other opinions. Should I go for it?
Thanks

I know it's not an ML430 but, there are tons out there with clean records, don't buy a headache to save a little.. IMHO..
The ML's with the sport package are hard to find; I want to make sure I don't buy one of these things just because it's the only one I've found so far. I also found a 320 sport for a similar price and fewer miles, but no navigation system. Could I add the nav system and have the same car as the 430? How hard/expensive is it to add a nav system? I'm not sure it has an antenna on the roof.

Did you just happen to run across the 430 or did you look for it? If you found the car after searching, is there anything special you did in order to find what you wanted? The sport package is hard to come by, and I've only found 2 that I like, this one and another one that was overpriced.
Oh yeah, I don't think I mentioned previously that mine is also a 2001.
