Trans stumble
On occasion my 03' 350 feels like is stumbles after coming to a complete stop. This happens fully warm while driving at street or highway speeds. It feels as if the motor is stumbling but the tach doesn't show the motor rpm dip. So, I assuming the trans is having difficulty downshifting. This stumble will take place immediately after coming to a complete stop. It will stumble for a few seconds and then correct itself.
Any clues on this issue?
Thanks

ML 270 CDI 2002
I have a similar problem with my ML 270 02. Sometimes when I break hard and come to a complete stop, just as the truck stops I feel 2 sudden thumps from behind.
Is this similar to your problem?
If it is, it is the valve housing in the gearbox. Mercs know it exists but won't admit to it!!!

My truck does this at simple slow stops or at abrupt stops. It is only intermittant happening only once or so everytime I drive it. This makes it difficult to duplicate when at the dealer.
My trans is more than a couple thuds. Mine shudders for at least five to ten seconds. You can feel the tranny through the floor boards, shifter and seat. It seems to be trying to find a gear or something. It feels just as if it was going to die out but the motor runs fine and the tach hold steady.
