Running terrible, then it resets.

I think I've cleared up all the ignition problems, but it (99ml320) still runs terrible after about a half hour. Shutting it off and restarting will fix it temporarily. It's not consistent, but often.

In searching for the location of the fuel pump relay, I stumbled across bad cats causing this. Is there any way to check without using a hack saw?

I'd love to get to the bottom of this!

Without knowing the codes everything is assumption/guesswork.

Just to closeout this tread, the fuel pump relay was the random misfire issue. I guess 320,000 miles and 18 years is a pretty good run for a relay.

Spoke too soon. It's acting up again. Worked fine until they used the cruise control.
