Early today my car would not start. When you put the key and turn the ignition. The car would crank but would not turn. I have full power, all my gauge lights up.

What could be the problem?

If no one can solve this problem. This will be my 13th visit to the dealership

What year is you ML? We used to have a 1998 ML320, and the only mechanical problem we had was a faulty fuel pump. I don't know the cause of the malfunction, but the car would just turn and turn and turn and not start. This problem is well-known with older MLs, and the dealership replaced the pump with one from a later model year.

I have a 2000 ML320. Here the detail on how the problem started

It was yesterday 05/02/2004 location is in San Diego CA. I left the car out of all night (forgot to moved the car into the garage). So around close to Noon. I went to Home Depot which is around 5-7 miles from my house. Outside Temper. was around 100.

Hella hot in San Diego. Came home and park the car out in the sun for about 30 minutes. Grab the keys need to pickup some stuff from Von's.

Got in the car. Turn the keys.. Nothing. Car would just crank and crank and crank, but would not start.

Yes, I had the Air condi. Blasting when I was driving to and from Home Depot.

Hey the temper is above 99..

So, I left it overnight and this morning. The car start up with no problems at all.

So any soluation or whats wrong with the car????????????

Okey I got back from the Stealership. Holly cow its going to cost me $385 to fix it. Look like the problems is a "Crank sensor" that need to be fix.

Does it really cost that much to fix a sensor?

I was thinking something around 100-200 dollars, but over 3 bills.
