CD vs. DVD

Is there any major benefit to the DVD based nav system over the CD system, other than having all the maps on one disc? Are there any advantages to the newer system. Also, is Mercedes finished updating the CD rom discs, or will they continue to make updates for the CD nav system?

CD vs DVD

DVD shows satellite time of day along with street, city and state on the display. Both on the bottom. Seems faster than CD. Stores addresses in "folders" e.g. personal versus work, if that's useful. Maybe useful if you have a large number of stored addresses. I'm in CT, USA. Now and then go to Philadelphia. With CDs, you can't create that route, since the NorthEast CD doesn't know where Philadelphia is. With DVD it does. That was helpful to me.
