Front windshield wiper problem
Front wiper on my old ML 430 stopped working. Checked all the fuse and replaced the relay (that was not the problem) but did it any ways just to make sure. I get power on the motor connector. But wiper does not move. took the motor assembly out. tried to bench test no movement on the motor. opened the spinning contacts part (Transmission) cleaned according to this video
Still no results. anyone had similar issue can shed some light? will appreciate

In your case you guessed right but you can have power to the motor and the problem could be, no ground, wiper switch, broken wire or faulty AAM.

Using a voltage probe ground one end to negative battery terminal. Select wiper switch position Lo. Probe should show power to at pins 1 and 3. Moving the wiper switch to the high position should show power on pins 2 and 3. Remove probe connector from negative terminal and place on positive terminal. Probe should light on connector pin 4 indicating a good ground.
If fuse 7 and relay 17 are good, chances are you need a new wiperwipmotor if there is no wiper activity. Happens a lot during winter when ice builds up around the wiper arm and the motor burns itself out.

Also if you have to replace a windshield wiper motor make sure the transmission arm is parked facing the drivers side and not the passenger side otherwise the wipers will park in the vertical instead of the horizontal.
