Muffler Leaking water

Hi All,

Is it ok to re-weld this leaking connection between muffler and exhaust pipe(see image below)? The reason i ask because i don't know much about it. Any comments is appreciated.

That is normal condensation that builds up in the exhaust. It will happen almost every day and it's perfectly normal

Thanks for the reply. Ok so it's normal. Should I just leave it as is and let it continue to drip if condensation build up. Overtime will the hole get bigger and I will hear bigger noise from this? Thanks

Unless you weld every seam and joint of that exhaust system into 1 continuous piece from the exhaust manifolds to the muffler tip, it will find a low spot to form a small amount of water and then drip out. Its normal. Unless you live up in the rust belt or where they salt the roads (in which case you would be used to replacing exhaust and suspension components), then it will be just fine for many years to come.

The short answer is yes to first sentence. And no to the second.

As everyone has said above, what your seeing is totally normal.

My 2005 178,000 mile GMC Envoy, driven in Ohio winter slush, snow, salt and parked outside since new still has its original exhaust system. And it emits condensation just like yours.
