2002 ML320 afermarket radio FM reception issue
Hi all I recently installed a pioneer AVH1300NEX in my 2002 ML320 with Bose premium radio. I replaced the Bose amp with a Clarion XC2510 and everything looks and works great except for the FM/AM radio receipton which is choppy and poor. I connected the antenna amplifier and the amp turn on to the same wire from the head unit (the one for the amp turn on). My thinking was that the head unit would turn on the amp and the antenna amp at the same time. Would this cause any reception issues? Has anyone encountered this before? For the actual antenna, I used a Metra 40-VW10 adapter to connect it to the head unit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Look for pin 3 and pin 5 connect them both to Blue/with white stripe wire that comes out from your new radio its a amp turn on wire. Or connect pin 3 pin 5 and pin 7 all together it will work that way too. Pin 7 is ignition on.
Hope that helps
I included a link for plug pin lay out.. Look for plug "A" pins 3/5/7
