i was looking into purchasing a ML 500 and noticed quite a difference in price btw a 2002 and 2003 ML 500 (both around the same milage).

what are the major differences between the models and are they worth it?

the 02 was the debut of the newer upgraded parts... the 03's have worked out some of the kinks. other than that, there isnt much of a difference.

 

The only difference was the availability of the DVD-based GPS Nav system (replacing the prior CD-based system). This (DVD) module can also be installed in an '02...

Other than that, no difference.

 

They tricked you on the options. Look at the options closely - convenience vs comfort packages, etc. There really weren't any apparent changes between the model years. There may have been some echanical changes, but I doubt it. MB may just be trying to recover all the warranty costs from the ML series!!!

How much difference are we talking here? It may have to do with where or who's advertising the truck!!!

 

i think it probably has to do with the dealerships advertising. I just noticed 2003 ML500 with similiar milage to a 2002 going for a good $5K more.
