Tires for my ML55
Hi guys. Picked up an ML55 few days ago.. used to own an ML500 and E55 (w211), very excited.
However after reading around and checking, it seems the 285/50r18 tire is no longer made. What are my options?
I do see there is a CONTINENTAL CrossContact UHP available on ebay but the reviews generally aren't very good. I looked at some used 19 or 20" rims but am having difficulty finding a full set that's not overly expensive.
275/55r18 only has a Kuhmo Ecsta STX which is also so so
265/60r18 seems more like a truck tire, although the Pirelli Scorpion Verde shows 8.8" tread width.
What's your advice? I am OK putting 17's, I think they will clear, the ML500 has the same brakes as the ML55 if I recall, and it was on 17s.
Thanks

the ML55 was designed to use the 285/50/18s.
You may be able to find 285/55s (ie. Yokohama AVS - $$$$), however they wont perform the same due to taller sidewall height vs OEM.

well that is.. unfortunate.
I might try 275/60r18 to see how they fit. They are 1.5" larger though but cheap and tons of tires
Don't really want to change rims
Dang it.
