Hi, above the rear view mirror on the roof there's this console with display (see pic)

and 2 buttons 'reset' and 'mode'.
The display never turns on, even after pushing the 2 buttons.
Now is this display supposed to work or is it built-in and only working as like an option?

Thanks for your precious help.

It is called a Trip Computer. It is powered by two fuses, #10 & 13, in the eng. compartment fuse & relay box.

First remove each one to see that they are not blown. Then turn the key on and with a test light or DVOM (digital volt/ohm meter), check both contacts on each fuse for 12v..

If the fuses are good, then in all probability the illumination bulbs are blown and the Trip Comp. must be replaced with a used one.

Wow, amazing, spot on...!
Thank you so much, indeed it was a story of fuses. I changed No. 10 and 13 and it all works again.
I have to say that I measured the old fuses after and they seem to be ok, maybe a false contact...?
But I'm so happy and grateful with your advice, Maj. Dundee! You should be called 'Magical Maj. Dundee' !
Thanks again, I'm amazed at your clear explanation, spot on resolution and professionality...!

Remove and insert the 2 fuses a number of times to assure good contact.

Ok, I will do that and understand why.
I already thought about doing this with all of them as all the contacts might be in this state.
Thank you !
