ML320 torsion bar reindexing

I've begun working on my car's suspension and I have a question about re-indexing the torsion bars to lift up the car. I already changed the white plastic bushings in the clamping lever and adjusted the bolts to around 30mm on both sides. But without turning the bolts and stiffening the ride further, I'd like to re-index the the torsion bars and gain an additional 3 inches or so. Does the re-indexing occur at the front end of the bar or the rear? If from the rear, then I guess I'd have to take the torsion bar out of the car, remove the screw at the end (number 130), move the bar 2-3 splines and reattach. Can anyone please confirm or give better guidance?

Thank you.

Torsion bars are on the front. And mated with the use of shocks.
The rear is shock and coil assembly.

There has been some discussion on this. Do a search on the w163 thread with "re-index torsion bars"
