I need your advice on '02+Sport

I currently have a '00 ML430 with 3rd row option. I am considering a '02+ model with sport package.

Do the '02+ model's rear seat (2nd row) fold forward like my '00 with 3rd row option? If it does then would I be able to keep my 3rd row seats and install them on the '02+?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Morris

From what I understand they do not. The 3rd row can be installed, however the right seat that folds out of the way for 3rd row entry does not do that unless the 3rd row is factory installed.

Stock ML's that do not have the M7 package do not have the forward-folding 2nd-row seat brackets.

However, I know a few people who have installed the complete kit, including the seats and the folding 2nd-row brackets, in ML's without the M7. Someone made a nice tutorial on this - I'll try to dig up the link...

So no, the stock seat will not fold forward, but yes, it's possible to make it do this...

That is correct the 40% seat which is thr right second row seat in a Mclass with third row seats telescopes up after you move it forward to allow the passangers in the third row seats to get in and out of the vehicle. But they both mount in the same way. At the worst you would have to buy the 40% seat, but if you let the standard seat down to the floor and you just have kids that are riding in your third row then as long as you dont mind them steping on your seatback you will be fine with the one you have now.
