1999 ML 430 with 66k miles
My E320 wagon is not well and I'm looking into a replacement.
I have an opportunity to buy a 1999 ML 430 with only 66k miles.
I have no familiarity with these vehicles and thought I'd ask here for some guidance on any major ticket items I need to check and or be prepared to address.
The initial sales price of these trucks seem unreasonably low given the initial build quality, and there are very few available. I'm frankly a bit confused.
I would like to avoid extremely high maintenance costs if at all possible....I know it's a MB and all....but just want to keep the cost of keeping on the road to a reasonable level.
What should I be looking for?

Because if you only have one key and you lose it, you cannot buy a key fob as M/B has stopped making them. Then you can only buy a single key that only open the doors manually & starts the truck, and there will be no anti-theft protection.
