I have a 1999 ML320 with a factory installed towing package which includes the factory brake controller. I would like to install an after market brake controller so that I have some control over the braking voltage being sent to the trailer which appears to now be doing way to much of the braking. Is there a way to by-pass the factory brake controller? Is there any adjustment capability on the factory controller? Is there a replacement controller that would modulate the voltage to the trailer brake system?
