reflector in corner light

reflector in corner light

anyone know what is behind the amber reflector in the headlight housing..the corner light? i am contemplating removal but wanted to know if it is simply glued on, or if there are holes behind it. thanks

I dont know what is behind it but to get to it you will have toseperate the headlight by breaking the seal and that will void your warrenty. Autogunner. P.S. the ECE builds don't have it, theirs is clear, but also it has a different part no. I beleive ours has it because of some state laws.

Yes, the D.O.T. requires an amber reflector on the front corners of vehicles for on road use in the U.S. I guess for safety purposes but I'm not really sure what it does or what it prevents or why orange/amber is the color of choice? Anyone?

im familiar with legal ramifications, and i can remove it without separating the lights...just wanted to know what is behind it before doing so, so i dont have any surprises waiting for me once i take it out.

I looked at both yesterday the U.S. and the ECE. It looks to me like it is smooth behind it and ever which color linse it gets just snaps into place.Autogunner.

thanks gunner...ill take your advice and just pull it...hopefully youre right and there is no holes.

let me know how you open the headlight, i was thinking, why not paint the amber silver??? Any idea how to open the headlight without breaking anything and gaining access to the reflector???
