CD changer stuck

My ML320 W163 2000 had quite a good stereo - just the standard Becker one, but now it says 'no disc' and the CD changer won't work. The radio doesn't work well any more either and the cassette won't eject so I am stuck listening to Carl Orf all the time! Should I just give up on it and replace the whole system or can it be fixed? I probably wouldn't get a better sound without spending £1000 on something new, and I don't have much money!

You are in England and I think you have the COMAND unit and not the (crappy) MCS unit that is in North America. The COMANDs are easier to replace with an aftermarket than an MCS. You can get a used one from Ebay as well to do a swap.

It doesn't have the Comand module - it is just the Becker stereo with a cassette. I might try and get it repaired otherwise I will have to replace it.

ignore the above post, whatever the hell that jibberish was.

You don't have the Bose system, so upgrading to an aftermarket double din unit will be easier (and cost the same). Google "benzworld w163 double din pioneer" and do some reading.

You'll be in fighting shape for less than 300 pounds.
