Ball Joints @ 65k?

Ball Joints @ 65k?
Anyone have had their ball joints replaced yet?
Dropped off the ML last night to be checked today for the excessive groaning and creaking noise while going over uneven roads and bumps.
Called a few minutes ago with an update. Both front lower ball joints have play in them especially the front left...is this normal on the ML @ this age and mileage? 5 years old and 65k miles on it...
Also the sway bar bushings were wearing out...
He said about $800 for both front ball joints, parts and labor and worst case for the bushings is a few hundred...
