Procedure for smoke test

Hi all, my 2004 ML350 VIN 4JGAB57E64A497435 has a CEL for P0455 (large leak in evap system). I bought a smoke machine off ebay and it works great.

I plugged it in the evap line under the hood and I saw smoke pour out near the passenger side exhaust. It then occurred to me that I probably needed to cap the vent for the evap system.

Does anyone know where/which vent tube I need to plug to properly test the system?

Thanks,

Update: I found the vent pipe tucked up under the rear bumper - I plugged it after smoke started pouring out and it didnt leak from anywhere! Good news i guess. After trying to listen for a ticking in the purge valve under the hood, it was dead quiet. I will swap it out and report back. The one time I dont just throw parts at it, it seems to be the cheapest/easiest to swap part.
