Radiator/Condenser Vibration damper??
I'm replacing the radiator on a 1999 ML320.
There is a rubber disk that acts as a vibration damper that sits between the radiator and the condenser. There is a long rubber grommet that goes through the condenser, through the damper and out through the radiator. It looks like it's one-use and not meant to be reused. At least at this age the clip just broke when being removed.
I can find almost no reference to this part and I can't find anyone who sells it (or anything like it for other cars). The damper (21) is fine to reuse, I just need something to hold it. The shaft of (20) and the piece that attached to it on the radiator side can't be reused.
This seems like a case where there should be a simple hack. it just needs a long, thin plastic shaft with a large head on one end and large connector on the other end that is long enough to span the condenser and radiator.
The Remove/install radiator instructions contain the following reference:
The rubber shock absorber (21) designed to prevent vibrations which may occur between condenser and radiator (15) when driving off-road.
Remove attachment parts (20) and shock absorber rubber (21)

Or, you can use the generic version for trans coolers or electric radiator fans:

I wasn't sure what search terms to try, because the searches I tried weren't finding anything.
This is perfect.
