PS Pressure hose gasket doesn't fit
I've got a 1999 ML320.
I just replaced the power steering pump and decided to replace all three of the 23 year old PS lines while I was in there. I just spent forever getting the $^#@% bolt off for the pressure hose hanger, pulled through the new hose, popped off the protective rubber boot off the fitting, opened the package with the oring, and it doesn't fit.
This is a REIN hose from FCPEuro. The flange fitting to the PS pump comes with the o-ring installed. The flange fitting to the steering rack has its o-ring in a bag. The original hose has the o-ring over the flange and sits up against the collar, like I would expect. The REIN hose has the collar too close to the flange for the o-ring to stay on by itself. Is that expected for this hose or is it a problem? I'm confused by the fact it doesn't come with the o-ring installed on the rack end, indicating something is different than with the pump end.
I enclosed a generic picture of the REIN hose showing the o-ring installed on the pump end and the o-ring not installed on the other end. I'll go out and take a picture of my actual hose alongside the hose I pulled out and and follow up with that image.

I looked up the correct part number and ordered the "correct" hose from FCP Euro. I've heard good things in general about FCP Euro and have not had any problems so far with quality or fit. There was one comment, which said the hose worked great. That was for an ML430 not an ML320, but the part and fit look to be exactly the same. That is why I ordered the two hoses from them.
The hose I have is REIN PSH0195, from FCP Euro
The description is:
Mercedes Power Steering Pressure Hose - Rein 1634602224A
OE Numbers: 1634602224, A1634602224, 1634602224A
ML320 Chassis Range: To A289559 (I have A112439).
Everything else about the hose looks like an exact replacement
I also have the low pressure hose, and it is similar where it connects to the rack, so this looks intentional and not like a manufacturing mistake.
Has anybody used the REIN hose from FCP Euro, (successfully or not)?
Thanks
