Hello, My name is Barry. Just joined, purchased a 1998 Ml320 a year ago. It has 68k and the more I drive it the more I like it. I purchased it in Az. I put about 1k on it before taking it home to Minnesota.
So here it is, I found a problem starting in the cold…. Below 20 degrees. Starts and dies, just like using valet key. Found if I warm Aam module starts good. Had a scan run on it leading to immobolizer. As I write this I have to apologize the code was??? 1570
Now, this is my secondary vehicle and I would like to delete the immobilizer.
Thinking Aam can still be a problem down the road.
Any feedback would be mostly appreciated.

98 Ml 320

Why don't you heat up the Transponder coil and/or the control module?

I failed to mention that.
I did warm the transponder ring first.

Ml320

When warming trans ring, still wouldn’t start.
Code stored in engine ecm.
Which controls immobilizer for transfer ring.

Did that code # have a P before it?

Are you using a code reader or a scanner?

Please update your profile to include the year, model (is it GAS, CDI or Blue) and where you live.

The code is p1570. The diagnostic scanner was capable of reading all modules with only this code stored,on engine ecm

That P1570 code is not a valid one which indicates that you have a code reader and not a scanner.

Look through the PDF codes and you will see that the code is non existent.
