Coolant Flush/Fill

I would like to flush and refill my coolant. Is the only proper way to do this throught the dealership? I know I can drain some of the coolant throught the plug but I can't flush it out of the engine? Is the only way to get a complete flush through the dealership? Thanks for any help.

What I have always done in the past was drain the coolant as much as you can, fill it back with water, run the car with the heater on high for a while.
Repeat the process a couple of times or till it drains clear you are ****.
Then fill it back with coolant/water. Saves me a few bucks from the dealer.
I don't know if you need to bleed the system like some other cars.
