$1300 to replace F/R Brakes pads, rotors, sensors???

Hello All,

My local MB Dealer in Scottsdale, AZ wants to charge $1300 to replace the front and rear brakes. I'm not surprised that I need this done but the price seems kinda of high. Is it?

sounds about right for what a dealer would quote...

that's not to say you can't get it done MUCH cheaper... or even do it yourself... (it's pretty straightforward).

parts from germanstar.net are about $400 or so for everything...

Are germanstar.net parts pretty good? They're not MB Factory parts. Does that matter? Also, I haven't gotten a chance to look at DIY manual but how long does it generally take?

If it's pads, rotors and sensors all around, that sounds a bit high but not too much... considering that a good chunk of that is labor.

When I had the dealer last do my front pads & rotors and rear pads (and all sensors), parts was $350... labor was $280. No kidding.

It takes about 2 hours..

however you slice it, 1300 is WAY too much. germanstar parts are OEM anyways.. so you'll be getting same crap one way or the other

4 wheeled car.
Tell your dealer to put down the crack pipe.

Sensors are like $3 a piece, pads like 100 bucks for two pairs (all OEM from mercedes), rotors, I dont know but I'm guessing $140 a pop. Labor, $100 or so.

The OEM rotors are just as good as Brembos.

our independent MB dealer said about $500-$550 for front pads and rotors (i'm assuming that includes the sensors too).

dealer quoted $645
