Why the same brake pads but big $$$ difference?

Ok, so I have been searching up and down the forum as well as contacting various vendors to get pricing on pads. Here is what I have come up with:

1.)GermanStar-- Front$85 Rear$85 Sensors$2.95 x 4
2.)RRParts--same price as German but sensors included
3.)Philsinc.com-- Front$45 Rear$27.50 Front sensor$5.20x2 Rear Sensor $8.20x2

So my question is this, if Germanstar and Philsinc both use MINTEX pads then why the huge price disparity? I mean, come on, you can buy the front AND rear for less than just the fronts from the other vendors. FYI, RRparts uses pagid.

Also, why would the sensors have a jacked up pricing structure ($3 different for front versus rear)?

Any comments, thoughts, explanations, etc.?

Last thing I want to do is overpay but at the same time I don't want to get some crap that will last only 5K miles!
