ML500 engine rebuild / re-seal

it seems the critical timing case O-rings have failed over the last 20 years or 170,000 miles . While the engine is out I’m still going to remove the cylinder heads to have them checked & possibly machined because I want to complete re-seal the engine with all new head gasket kit / timing cover gasket kit ( I believe one of the kits includes valve seals & front & rear main engine seal also ) all purchased from FCPeuro , among a few other parts like a thermostat / ignition coils & spark plugs / timing chain kit Ect… of course some other new sensors such as knock sensors / cam & crankshaft sensors / coolant temp sensor . I’m going to clean everything correctly with a 20gal parts washer even let some soak over to remove the carbon & oil , speaking of oil . The oil pump will be cleaned & a new chain will be purchased for it before it’s re-installed , milkshake oil is no joke. I’m a one man show & this is my first ever removal - disassemble - clean - reassemble- reinstall of an engine , it took me 3 days on/off working a few hours at a time with hand tools to remove the engine & get it on the stand ready to be worked on .I took my time & labeled everything along the way also . Anyway stay tuned for next update! Thanks 🙏
