2005 ML350 SE noises
Hello everyone. I am pretty good at research, but I am stumped at this stage.
2005 ML350 Special Edition at 247k km/ about 160k miles. Work great. In last 8 years only AC condenser, alternator and trans cooler lines needed to be changed. Very dependable vehicle. I hate the rust creeping in, but can't complain.
However, now it started developing some weird sounds underneath towards the front. I tested to see if it is the diffs or bearings. Ruled those out for now.
How it shows up:
At speed:
30 to 60 mph (50 to 100 kmh) noise is oresent
At temperatures
under 40F/10C
As soon as engine gets to temp, sounds disappear if weather warmer. If it is cold outside, sound persists between the mentioned speeds.
I tried attaching video ... but in the era of technology ... it seems that the MP4 format that is used by any cell camera is not accepted.
Will post as soon as I figure it out
