ML500 Transmission?

ML500 Transmission?
when replacing transmission fluid, does there need to be any sort of system reset? I ask because, i had to refill lost fluid, but gears are not staying engaged.....

1. For what reason did you have lost fluid?
2. How did you determine how much fluid to replace?
3. How did you determine that the transmission fluid level was “full”?
4. What brand/spec was the fluid that you added?
To answer your question, there is an adaptation procedure, but it is not called for when simply adding fluid.
To help with the problem, the answers to the four questions are useful.
