Need help removing shift knob
just purchased a chrome shifter insert, no instructions though, please advise as how to remove factory shift knob

Just loosen the black ring and pull upward and it should pull right off. Good Luck!!!

You loosen the black ring by twisting it. Looking down at the shifter from the drivers seat, you twist towards the left I think..... Then pull the shift knob straight up.
