1998 ML320 Possible AAM issue?
The mechanic has tested the usual suspects, pulled apart the center console, tested the head unit, traced wiring, and consulted a specialty database he has access to.
The head unit is working properly, the wiring is sending power, the compressor kicks on when connected directly, voltages are normal where tested.
The pressure switch threw a code (AC pressure too high) and was replaced; freon's been checked and is correct level.
Still no cold AC.
Their conclusion is that the AAM is blown. I'm told this model year has no fuse between the AAM and the compressor, so when the compressor overdoes it, the AAM gets blown and not a fuse.
The other things the AAM controls are all functioning normally (horn, wipers, lights, etc).
Any advice? Or ideas on a where to source a replacement AAM?
Tried searching the forum but came up empty. If anyone can point me to something, thanks. .
Much appreciated.
