Question How to reset 8 mph automatic lock?

Somehow my ML320 is no longer automatically locking after it goes over 8mph. I remember reading here or somewhere about a way to fix it so it will again start locking when you go over 8mph. Can someone please post it? (Something like hold down the lock button four seconds...?)

Thanks

Read your manual. On my car I need to go into the instrument cluser computer and set the setting for the auto-lock. I would assume the ML is the same process, however, I can not be 100% sure. When in doubt, break that manual out ..

do this...

To activate automatic central locking (from 2002 M-Class Operator's Manual):

"With key in steering lock position 2 [second position forward] hold upper portion of switch [side of the button with icon of lock closed] for a minimum of 5 seconds".

To deactivate, same thing except that the lower portion of the switch (icon of lock open) needs to be held for 5 seconds.

Thanks

Thanks, I didn't realize it was in the manual. I'll RTFM and try Gustav's suggestion if that doesn't work...

Thanks!
