What exactly is not fixed under warranty??

My car is an 02 with 21k on it. Do they cover brakes and wear items other then tires like BMW or do they make you pay out the a$$ for everything?? Thanks

You are confused between the difference between Warranty and free maint. Some wear and service items are covered under the free maint but not brakes. Warranty is for faulty parts, assembly, etc. There is no free lunch even with BMW the cost is figured into the price of the car.

Free maintenance covers oil changes, and washer fluid at every service. B service includes a dust filter, wiper blades (or inserts) and a tire rotation also for 00-02 models. '03 and up gets shafted on the rotation and wipers. '05 gets shafted even more - no free maintenance at all. All free maintenance cars get brake and coolant flushes as needed only in conjunction with a service.
Warranty does not cover: Normal wear and tear, we all drive cars and we know the difference.
Intentional damage.
Accidental damage.
Damage resulting from negligence ie: You heard a loud noise and kept driving anyways.
Maintenance items except as listed under free maintenance. Brakes are not covered. Alignments, tires, air and fuel filters are also not covered.
Bulbs and batteries are covered, including remote batteries.
Free roadside assistance forever, as long as you are driving your mercedes.
You would be amazed at the things people try to get warranted. And virtually every single time you quote the cost for repair, then they don't want it fixed afterall....
Hitting something in the road and breaking you foglamp is not covered.
It is not easy to pass this stuff off on warranty as they inspect all parts returned and debit every claim with damaged parts. It has to be a defective part ie: something that broke on its own with no outside cause.
Hope this helps... If in doubt, ask here!
