ML window switch

Dear Members,

I have a 1998 ML320 and the window switch for my driver side window decided to stop working. This has happened 2 times when it was under warrenty. I was wondering can this be fixed or does the whole unit need to be replaced?

Thanks in advance.

Not repairable, you must change the entire switch module in the consol. Its not expensive

Is repairable

The contact on the swith gets bent over time and no longer makes the appropriate contact to raise the window eventually.

Purchasing a new control unit is one way to fix it, but it will eventually fail again. I searched the forum a while back regarding the same problem and came across a thread that pointed to instructions on how to fix the problem. No new parts are required.

Thanks Eric. I'll make sure to keep that site for future references. Seems like it would be easier to buy a newer module.

Thanks !

The newest parts don't seem to suffer repeat failures anymore...
