Getting ready for Sirius, Also could be used for IPOD

Well, my Sirius Sat is coming this week and I decided to get ready for it. I didn't want to use the FM modulator because 1. I heard you can get static and 2. I also want to use a MP3 player and want to switch back and forth. So I decided to go the tape adapter rout. I took the MCS apart and ran the wire through the tape deck. I took some pictures so if anyone out there is looking to the same thing, they will have an idea how it will work. The whole thing took less than 1 hour. Here are some few hints: (All the applicable disclaimers apply such as I am not responsible for any damage caused by this install. Do it at your own risk. etc.)

1. Before unhooking the wires make sure you have your MCS security code because you will need it.
2. Open the MCS door and then turn off the car.
3. Unhook the wires but be careful since the MCS door is open. You don't want to damage it.
4. Separate the tape deck from the NAV unit.
5. Insert the wire and rout it through the back.
6. Take the tape deck back to the car and plug the power back in only.
7. Push the tape in. Once it is in. turn off the car and unplug the power again. You still need to leave the MCS door open.
8. Put back together the MCS.
9. Plug all the wires back to the car.

Replacing the MCS with a unit from certain 2004 models or a 2005 model would give you a factory sirius option.

Well,,That means that I have to buy a new MCS which will cost around $1000. Then to add the Sirius option is another $600 through the dealer. That's roughly about $1600. My solution was $9.95 through Walmart.
