1999 ML430

cigarette lighter not working

My 99 ML430 cigarette lighter does not work. I can plug in my cell phone power adapter and receive power but i can't use it for the lighter. The lighter seems like it's never been used. Any suggestions

Lighter itself is burnt out or bad, replace it.

I don't remember exactly what it was. We had problems with this before. It was recommended to NOT use the Cigarette Lighter for other accessories.

There might be something in the way it's designed....I haven't looked lately!
