If you don't know what the fault codes are, there is no reason to start throwing parts at it. Humidity likely has nothing to do with your problem. Fuel filters, among other parts, are part of normal maintenance. Its not something you ignore until the check engine light comes on. Replacing a filter is not going to fix your problem. You will need to have it diagnosed by a professional.

Gas cap...
Fuel pump if it doesn't have the latest one and associated lines...
