Has anyone purchased or had full underbody skid plates installed...? I'm thinking of making custom fitting full underbody skid plates. Removable of course with 3/4" shear bolts. I got the idea after spending some time under a H1 Hummer recently. The only issue I see is heat gain, but I think that could be dispursed with vent holes drilled near exhaust parts. Even the A-arms could be done easily. Any thoughts or suggestions...??

Well, I'm pretty good at metal fab... But I have friends that do it for a living... Its pretty simple just use cardboard templates.... I'm trying to calculate total weight based on the area and gauge of metal... Trying to keep it below 200lbs. Basically an extra passenger.

So you think there may be a chance that I can purchase a set from you ?? Weight isnt really a concern for me either.

Well, I'll let you know how it goes... But I'm sure we could work something out. As soon as we do mine and solve any problems, these guys can duplicate it in an afternoon. The new idea is too buy some steel side steps and carry the plate out under the rocker panels. This means no body crunch on a high center. And the best part about the whole idea is there is no visual impact at all. Just the peace of mind that the underside is completely flat, smooth and protected. I think we've solved the issue of rattling or vibrating too. Poly bushings and washers.
I'll post pics of the process too. I can't believe nobody here has skid plates....?

Sounds good ... please keep me updated. I will deff make it worth your time and your friends. Also I just found out that the ORC front skidplate doesnt work with a brushguard. Is there anyway you can fabricate your skidplates to work with a brushgurd ??
