Resyncronizing key, Help!

I have a 2000 ML 430 and my key transmitter stoped working, I replace the battery and still nothing, How do I resync the key to the car, The car didn't come with an owners manual, and I don't want to drive 45 mins to the dealer and have them do it in 10 secs.

Buy a manual. You will need one to take full advantage of your ML's Features and to take care of it correctly.

The following is from the manual...

"To do so on later production after October 1997, or on vehicles receiving later serial number AAM's (N10):
- Turn the ignition key (S2/1) to position 2 and back to position 0 and remove it.
- With in 60 seconds, Press and hold the lock-all button.
- While the lock-all button is depressed, press the unlock-all button five consecutive times.
- Press any radio remote button to activate the system".

In Layman words:
- Turn the ignition to position 2 and back to position 0 and remove it
- With in 60 seconds, press and HOLD the lock-all button
- Press the unlock-all button five consecutive times (while holding the lock-all button).
- Press any key on the remote to activate the system

Good Luck

Thanks pcy it works now, Don't know why it did that, the car battery didn't die and it happened to both controllers a day apart.
