Third Row in the '06?

i buzzed through the pdf brochure on the new ML - nice, but, no 3rd row seating? if there is, that brochure didn't make much of a deal out if it. i'm looking for a family cruiser for the wife - i've always driven MBs, so the M class has been a consideration. i like the new styling, i'm going to be disappointed if it only seats 5 - especially since they're making a big deal out of how much bigger it is!!!

The ML will be 5-place (really 4) only--fine by me. The job of a 7-place vehicle falls to the replacement for the Gelandewagen if you want an SUV, due this Fall, I believe. Otherwise, consider the R-Class (GST) family hauler with style.

Totally Bummed about the Lack of 3rd Row

I have to agree - I was really excited to get the new 2006 ML - but very sad to see it wouldn't have a 3rd row. I don't need much space in the 3rd row (I just put kids back there) - but it's necessary to have that extra space when lugging around carpool kids.... We just got rid of my Expedition in hopes of getting the ML - now I'm driving the E500 until we see what the GST looks like this fall. Guess we'll cross our fingers!

Scuba in Las Vegas?

Is that an oxymoron?

i wonder why they would drop the third row? if they could fold it into the floor like many other cars, it wouldn't be in anyone's way. and it could always just be an option. makes no sense

As explained above, the G-Class is intended to fill that need. It doesn't make sense to have two similar vehicles.

The space under the floor is fully utilized for the spare tire, 25-gallon fuel tank, etc.

I was referring to the Gelandewagen, not GST (R-Class).
