Tires on the W164

So what tires have you seen on these cars so far? I have seen the Michelin Diamaris (sp?) and Bridgestone Turanza ER30 (same as what came on my BMW 3-series sport pkg) on the ML500 with appearance pkg.

The standard ones on the ML350 are Michelin Latitude Tour HP. It's a new tire and according to Michelin they were developed together with Mercedes specifically for the W164!

Some have the Diamaris on optional 19" wheels.

Should be in Greg's thread of 7 MLs at sunrise here:

Michelin has been involved as a partner in the development of the M Class from the start. The tyres were designed at Michelin's technology centre in the United States, the country where the ML is also produced. The vehicle is thus equipped with broad tyres that highlight its sporting pedigree. The new Latitude Tour HP range was designed to satisfy the road performance requirements of top-of-the-range 4x4s: driving pleasure, grip, winter versatility and ride comfort.
Mercedes also offers a Sports Package with 19-inch wheels. These required an exceptional tyre: the Michelin 4x4 Diamaris, designed for the highest levels of on-the-road performance, and particularly well suited to fast and safe driving both on straight stretches and in bends (top speed 270 kph/168 mph).

I've seen both of those on 19s. The Michelin seems a perhaps better tire based on info on the Tire Rack site. It's also better looking and has a W speed rating vs. V on the Potenza.

But I bet mine comes with the Bridgestones. Well, I'll probably chage to wider 20s quickly, and the Michelins do come in 275/45-20.
