new Keyless GO keys
hi all, i jz heard that if you order the new ML with Keyless Go, you get a very nice key, different from the current ones (which look the same whether you have KG or not). can anyone confirm this and perhaps post a pic or two? thanks!

hi actually, aside from the PANIC button it looks quite the same as the current Keyless Go transponder on Mercs. i read that there was a new design of some sort -- perhaps not

There are two different ML keys. The standard (non-keyless Go) key will be similar to current keys in the C, E, and S class. However, the silver keyless Go key is the one shown above that is chromed.
I thought the new key will be chrome on all but in fact it is not.
No more push button flip out style like on the W163. I like the infrared keys much better.

i'm thinking they usually steal these cars by stealing the keys first? surely that's much easier than trying to break merc's multi-fangled codes or whatever it is ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
i sorta like the non-chromed keys better, although have to see it in person to decide. somehow the chrome looks pasted on? :P

I still don't understand what are the benefits of keyless; (1500€).
I love the key, but the funcionality is only to don't have to take out the key from your pocket? I wont pay 1500€ for this since it's not a such terrible action :-D
Best Regards.

Have had my SL with KG for a little over a year....love the feature and wouldn't consider not getting it in any other car.
It goes WAY beyond convenience.

Having been a sceptic of the Keyless Go option before my ML, I can confidently say that I am now a raving fan of Keyless Go. It makes a lot of difference in the daily routine of entering, exiting and starting the car so much easier and even more 'mindless'.

The rumor is that for model year 07, all keys will migrate to this design. So, we'll have to wait and see.
The one thing I don't like is that the buttons are on the same side as the star. Too busy - the way it is now is best, the star by itself and the buttons on the opposite side.

Jack,
I thought you were getting an R500 with all the trimmings - or have you "downgraded" due to sticker shock??
Cheers,
Birger
PS: Saw a Pewter ML the other day - and under the Nevada sun it wil not be "dull", I agree. It looks better on a ML than on an E, though - and will look OK on the R too.
Can you tell us how you managed to get the Keyless Go option on the ML350? I am being told this is not an option for my R350 which I have on order.
Cheers,
Birger
