Ml350 Question

Is it possible to get the keyless go option somehow installed on the 350 or is the wiring for the system done at the factory and hence cant be installed later? Also, is it possible to get the lighting and sunroof packages on the 350, because when you build a benz on the mbusa website, the boxes are grayed out.

Just about any pkg you get will automatically come with the Sunroof pkg which is why it's grayed out.

Can't answer about the keyless go. If possible I'd bet you would see alot of discussion about it here soon.

Keyless Go requires different door handles, as well as the other infrastructure. I'm not sure if the wiring is in the 350. It would probably be difficult to retrofit.

The website is a little confusing how it works. As Jack says, since the Lighting pkg. requires Trim, Appearance or Premium, which all require the Sunroof pkg., it is already selected.

I wish they treated the US like Germany.....

In my Touareg I was able to retrofit the keyless start button Euro OEM Spec. I already had the keyless entry, for some reason they did not let the button come into the United States. A few of my friends who had Touareg's attempted to retrofit the entire system. It ended up being a mess becuase of the complete rewiring required in the car, installation of the modules, the door handles, and reprogramming of the truck. It turned out that it just wasn't worth it. I suspect the ML 350 will be the same way, too many things to attempt. I wish they would offer the same options on the different engine trims. I guess the mentality is that you have to make the owner of the bigger engine feel unique becuase of his choice. I think that is really lame, but I'm glad the 350's don't get the chromed out back where the parking assist is, I think its really ugly and a little overboard.

Your answers about the sunroof are interesting because in France the sunroof is an option of his own and is not included in any package.

I just took delivery of an ML350 with the Keyless Go option. The dealership had two these abnormalities in stock. They were apparently ordered when the Keyless Go option was to have been an available option for the 350, then MB changed their minds. I wouldn't have ordered it if it was an option, but since I had no choice, and am 'stuck' with using it, I am beginning to find that it is a really interesting feature. Go Keyless Go! haha
