FSS Plus in Canada

The Owner's Manual (p. 371) indicates the Flexible Service System (FSS Plus) is installed in Canadian vehicles, but not US. That's odd-wonder why?

I believe it is the same thing just different name. The difference could also be that the only vehicle with FSS+ is the 211 in the US and maybe MB wants to differentiate the vehicles.

But according to the service sheets (in dealer) they look the same except the ML has more items to do than the 211

I heard the W164 has a fixed service schedule and no FSS anymore in the US.

Would a someone with a Service & Maintenance booklet confirm the service schedule?

You may be right, from looking at the service sheet, it looks like it is every 13,000 miles......I assume with oil changes in between

The computer has a function that tells the mileage to the next service and what type of service (A or B). I don't know yet if it is based on 13K and just deduct the driven miles or if indeed monitors the car to set the optimal service mileage.

Agreed, it's pretty odd. I found this reply from MBUSA posted by TREKMAN in the C32 AMG forum why they dropped FSS.

mbz switch to this system in 05,

the 05 model is the first model that got the MBZ maintenance system,

the 04 model is the last model that had FSS-FSS Plus
