woosh sound
I've got to figure out if this wooosh sound I'm hearing from the car is normal or not. I've been told that since the cabin is so air tight that the air inside must be released somewhere. Funny that even when the windows are down the car will make the sound. It happens to me after shutting a door and sometimes it will just happen for no reason. I wonder if this is related to the Airmatic? Has anyone else figured out what this sound is? I'm planning on bringing the car back to the shop this week for the jerky tranny and would like to have this done also. Thanks.

Mine does it too. So did the several that the salesperson and I tested to try to duplicate the issue. We guessed it had to do with the airmatic suspension, as those without this option didn't make the same sound. Who knows? I think it's normal. I wouldn't worry about it.

As far as the jerky transmission goes, try using the comfort setting. I think that the ML will be inherently more jerky with the sport setting. This worked for me, and now it's as smooth as butter.

Also, I found the Auto setting on the Arimatic to be the best compromise. Comfort is a little floaty for my taste.
